At the Palais Erzherzog karl, the place where the Wiener Philharmoniker settled in 1842, an extremely modern multimedia museum was opened in 2000.  Music history is presented here as a creative show.  The journey into the world of sounds starts with the sounds in the womb and ends with the attractive sounds of heaven.  Next to the explanation of the development of the human ear, you also get to see all conceivable musical instruments, some of which you may try out.

This museum amply illustrates the city’s history. Also has an abundant art collection whose every item is connected to Vienna, such as paintings by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.
