Before this theatre was finally opened in October 2004, for about
fifteen years the parties fought for a permanent place where they could
perform. It is not a classic theatre but an open center, ‘a turntable
for art and culture for a young public’. Dschungel Wien brings us
international guest productions as well as productions from Austrian
parties. It offers dance, expressive art, literature, film, etc.
Cross-over between different genres is not unusual here either.
According to Rabl, teenagers who were raised with tv are the most
difficult public/audience, but he manages to let the young people find
their way to the Dschungel.
